Summary: The goal for this class was to acquaint the class with the tools and concepts of financial accounting and reporting. It also helped us to better grasp financial planning and budgeting.
I believe this class was a good overview for us as leaders. It provided enough information so that we could understand the budget process and where our sources of funding, and income come from, as well as, where our expenses and spending go.
So What, Now What: While we are not accounting majors or even minors, having a good overview and understanding is important for leaders.
The board was constantly filled with numbers, ratios, percentages….
